Simple ingredients are transformed into magically savory and delicious dishes at Pollito Con Papas.
It was our first time here, and we made a mistake by getting our dinner to go. The interior and dining patio were charming, musicians were setting up and the friendly staff kept offering us something to drink and a seat while we waited.
We both had grilled chicken thighs which were skinless/boneless, flattened, and quite generous in size. Subtly and perfectly seasoned, delicious on their own, they were even better with the creamy garlicy aji sauce included.
A mound of cilantro rice molded into what I assume is the shape of Machu Picchu was similarly subtle and wonderful, it's flavor capturing the essence of herby greenness.
The chicken-stuffed potato was spectacular comfort food, which we at first mistook for a dinner roll. This little football had a tender golden brown crust, the surface of what was a layer of fluffy mashed potatoes, generously stuffed with chunks of tasty chicken. A couple of these wonderful buns of goodness would made a meal in themselves!
Pollito con Papas II is definitely the next in our growing list of Albuquerque must-visit restaurants. -

Absolutely delicious Peruvian chicken restaurant! I'm glad that the place I was trying to go to was closed so that I could find this place instead.
I ordered the chicken thighs, yucca fries, and cilantro rice. All of these were excellent. The chicken thighs were some of the best I've had. They're seasoned just right so that they have an interesting flavor without being overly salty. The yucca fries were nice and not too oily. I had never had cilantro rice before, but I really enjoyed it. The chicha morada (purple Peruvian drink) was also excellent.
Everyone here was really nice. Service was excellent.
I'm definitely coming back the next time I'm in Albuquerque. -

I had lunch here and it was great. The food was flavored well and for me, the portions were perfect. I appreciated having good customer service from beginning to end. The waitress was attentive and friendly and the food came out fairly quickly.
My only reason for not giving it 5 stars was that the chicken stuffed potato was a misnomer. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious. It's essentially a fried ball of mashed potatoes with raisins and mushrooms inside. That said, with the name, I was expecting a chicken-stuffed potato to have chicken in it. Other than this, it was a great experience with reallt tasty and well-seasoned food. -

I came here with my boyfriend and his kids. It wasn't overly crowded, but it was a late lunch and it's still really new to the area. I got the chimichanga! It was really good and the dipping sauce was super yummy!
My boyfriend and his kids each got the chicken with the stuffed potato. I tried their food and it was really good.
I would definitely come here again!
